Greg Mooney
Greg
grew up in a yachting family based out of Fort Lauderdale Florida
and was constantly around the water. Greg's extensive travel as a
mariner over the years, and later as an International trainer,
enabled him to appreciate the amazing wonders of nature throughout
the world, both on land and below the sea. Yet he still found the
greatest satisfaction exploring his home state of Florida's natural
settings and its diverse animal life. Whether diving of the coast of
Florida or trudging through the Everglades, Greg is always amazed at
the natural beauty we so often take for granted in our great state.
Greg is an accomplished diver and
dive technician, a proud member of the Oceanic Preservation Society,
and a new member of NANPA. Greg splits his time between running
Moondog Dive Outfitters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, worldwide
expeditions with the Oceanic Preservation Society, and teaming up
with Mike Ring, Compiling the material for The Florida Wildlife
Project's photo Journal.
His passion for the outdoors and our
fragile ecosystem in Florida, and the commitment he has seen by so
many people to preserve the natural beauty of Florida, are shared by
his lifelong friend and shooting partner Mike Ring. The Florida
wildlife project is an ongoing photo essay to show the vastness and
amazing beauty and diversity public accessible lands in Florida have
to offer its residents and guests. He also thinks it just plain fun.
Mike Ring
Florida native Mike Ring is a Nature Photographer who lives in
Edgewater, Florida. In 1988 he earned an Associate of Science Degree
in Photography at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. He started
out as a large group photographer and after a few years of hard work
opened his own photography studio. His assignments included product,
architectural and public relations photography. Some of his clients
included North Broward Hospital District, Motorola and the South
Florida Manufacturers Association, just to name a few. Over time his
love of Florida and its natural beauty captivated him to take
landscape and nature images around the state. A few years ago Mike
and his wife Adele relocated to Edgewater from Ft. Lauderdale; they
were amazed at the incredible natural beauty of central Florida and
the amount of nature all around them.
Mike's passion for the great outdoors makes him realize how fragile
the environment is around us. He believes that the natural beauty of
the environment is the heart and soul of our great State and he
hopes through his images people will realize how important it is to
preserve natural areas for generations to come.
